Procurement Controller £60-70K + Bonus + Benefits North West
Our client is an SME food manufacturer who predominantly produce a range of ambient products. They are a business with a clear growth plan, this means driving savings as well and increasing sales. Consequently they want a Procurement controller to join the business and transform the way they buy ingredients, packaging and indirect products & services.
This individual will report into a board director and be responsible for all procurement activity. Ingredients and packaging represent a huge cost for this business, this individual will be responsible for taking cost out by forward buying, sourcing new commodity suppliers and being creative in the way goods are purchased. They will come up with and implement procurement strategy. They will lead and motivate a small team. They will be an agent of change and used to challenging the status quo. They will have an excellent understanding of world commodity markets.
You will have held a senior Management role within a food manufacturer, either as a number one in an SME or possibly a number two in a larger corporate. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills. You will be happy working in an environment where people are direct, expect quick decisions and are results focused. You will be used to being proactive and creative in the way you approach buying.
This business has a unique culture of easy decision making and flexibility. It would appeal to someone who already has experience of such a culture or someone who works in a larger corporate who would like to experience working in a more nimble company. It goes without saying you need to be comfortable with change and working in a business that is often unpredictable.
